Seiko 6119-5000 – Vintage 1970s Automatic (Unmodified, Original)
Although we specialise in Seiko mods, this watch is not a mod. This is a genuine, unmodified Seiko 6119-5000 from 1977 – exactly as it left the factory over 40 years ago.
What immediately sets this Seiko apart is its unmistakable 1970s square “TV” case design, paired with a deep blue sunburst dial that perfectly captures Seiko’s bold, experimental era. This is classic vintage Seiko – confident, angular, and unapologetically retro.
The square case, integrated bracelet, and applied indices create a look that feels straight out of late-’70s Japan, when Seiko was pushing boundaries and redefining everyday automatic watches. On the wrist, it wears compact yet striking — a genuine conversation piece for anyone who appreciates true vintage design rather than modern reissues.
This example retains its original Seiko bracelet, completing the authentic period look and adding real collector appeal.

Frequently Asked questions
Order
Why is there a 4-6 week build time?
Every ModWatches UK timepiece is built to order right here in Leeds, UK. We don’t bulk-buy ready-made watches from overseas or slap our logo on generic stock.
Instead, we carefully source each individual component ourselves -often from specialist suppliers around the world – and hand-assemble every watch in-house. Naturally this can take some time depending on how many orders we have in our queue.
This process takes time, because every piece is crafted with precision, tested on a timographer for accuracy, and undergoes thorough quality control before leaving our workshop.
Before we ever sold a single watch, we built them for our own collections – driven by passion, not profit and sharing our builds on our Youtube channel.
That same care and attention still guide every build today. So while we almost always beat the 4 week mark, it can occasionally take up to 6 weeks to create something genuinely special: a high-quality watch built by enthusiasts, not middlemen.

General
What is a modded watch?
A modded watch is a timepiece that’s been customised using aftermarket or original parts to create a unique design. Think of it as watch customisation—tailored to your style.
Where do you build your watches?
We build all our watches in Leeds, UK.
Are your watches brand new?
Yes, all the watches we build are made using brand new parts unless clearly stated otherwise. We inspect all components before assembly to ensure the highest quality.
Can you mod my own watch?
At the moment, we only build watches using our own sourced components to maintain quality and consistency.
Are your watches waterproof?
Most of our builds maintain a basic level of water resistance, which is 30m. This is fine up to washing hands and light splashes.
However due to the complex nature of a modified watch we do not reccomend deep submergance or using in the shower.
Do all the dials on the chronograph watches work and function?
Yes, unless stated otherwise, all the dials on our chronographs are fully functional
Is the GMT hand functional on your GMT watches?
Yes, unless stated otherwise, all our GMT watches feature a working GMT hand
Which movements do you use for the watches?
- We use the NH35 movement for most of our watches. This is an automatic movement
- We use the VK63 movement for our chronograph watches (Daytona, etc.). This is a Mecca-quartz movement
- We use the NH34 for our GMT watches. This is an automatic movement
- We use the Miyota 8285 movement for our Day-Date watches. This is an automatic movement
What if something goes wrong with my watch?
- We quality-check and test every watch before dispatch, but if there’s an issue, please reach out within 30 days of delivery. We’ll do our best to make things right.
Do you offer any warranty with the watch?
Yes, we offer a 12 month warrantee starting from the date your watch is shipped. This covers any defects in the movement or overall functionality of the watch.
Please note: As our watches have a basic water resistance rating of 30m, the warranty does not cover water ingress, internal fogging/steaming, or accidental damage.
